This is
FlanRou

First and foremost we are riders, so our priority is always the parcour and how the route rides. We want riders of all abilities to be able to come along and rub shoulders with talented riders, keen amateurs and those just looking to enjoy some nonsense, genuinely encouraging all abilities. Enjoy riding like it should be, without timing chips, pressure or judgment. Ride what you like, wear what you like, just have a damn good time and feel part of something little bit different.

Our calendar is currently two annual rides. An early season opener ‘OMLOOP’ in March and ‘RIBINOÙ’ in June. ‘DARKLANDS’ in early July is not open for entry currently and we will bring you updates on that very soon.

We are about enjoying time in the saddle with your chums and meeting like minded fruitcakes. By far the majority of our riders are repeat offenders. We like to think that speaks for itself and a fabulous ‘Flanrouvian’ community has steadily grown since 2015.

We love the ‘classics’ so our one day rides are aimed to recreate a similar experience. Our name FlanRou is actually melded from our two favourite races of the pro calendar Spring classics.

omloop

Early March, our ‘on road’ season opener enjoys a strong following from the regions hardcore ‘roadies’ around our Flanders style route.

We start and finish in a warm, spacious hall, essential for early spring weather. Some years have been ridden in shorts and even short sleeves. But we have also had ‘The Beast from the East’ editions where we were sandwiched between snow showers and yet that is often the most memorable editions with arduous 'baltic' conditions. Restricted numbers.

ribinoù

It's June, so lush green with tall grass. Ribinoù is ridden in gravel and drove 'sectors', our own version of Paris-Roubaix but rougher! These forgotten droves, back lands and byways are linked together by tarmac lane sections to create a twist and turn of a ride that will keep you on your toes!

Every year we start from the well known local meeting cafe 'Sweets' between Glastonbury and Wedmore. right in the heart of the Somerset levels. We recommend riding Gravel, CX or MTB bikes on this one. Always book early, limited places.

Darklands

Evening start from Shepton Mallet on Friday 4th July (Entry is NOT open yet) - something quite different, challenging and unique.

We can't reveal all the details quite yet, this ride will ONLY be available to our regular experienced riders and the numbers will be very restricted, likely by invite only.
