omloop

'road to the classics'

We bloody love the spring classics. Early season 'do or die' one dayers. That's what we aim for with our 'OMLOOP', great parcour. As close to a Belgian 'Flanders' profile as we can, right here in the centre of Somerset.

We've had all the weathers over the years, sub zero 'Beast from the East' editions and mild 'ride in shorts' editions. But a large warm hall will great you, acting as a great place to meet up with mates, share road stories and we might just have something to help warm you up when you finish.

Most riders are returning year on year, which speaks for itself really. Very limited places, so book early, once we all full that is it.

100k or 80k routes -
but what is the 'omloop' parcour?

115k (or 80k shorter option) all ridden on tarmac in a 'Fondo' style. A superb quiet lane parcour, similar to a Belgian, but right here on the Somerset Levels. With only around 650m of ascent on the full route. NO TIMING CHIPS, it's not our thing. We don't want you 'racing for the deluded' on th open road, so you can enjoy riding with your mates without any time pressures.

secret route... ssh

'OMLOOP' route is based on previous routes which you all seem to love but always with odd tweaks and changes every year.

Physical signage is up on the course and GPS route files are emailed to entrants AFTER ONLINE ENTRY HAS CLOSED. So normally a few days BEFORE the ride. You'll also carry a brevet card and our own branded physical signage will also be up along the route.

This very early season opener is held at the start of the Spring 'cobbled classics' season. Routed on tarmac but on back lanes with similar parcours that you will see being raced on E3 Harelbeke, Ghent-Wevelgem, Dwars Door Vlaanderen or Tour of Flanders. Perfect training if you're heading out to one of those Flandrian fondo rides or just looking for winter motivation to get your season off to a flying start... allow some extra chill time for once you're back at the hall too for a little nourishment.

restricted low participate numbers keeps it real nice.
