Welcome to FlanRou

We are first and foremost riders, so our priority is the parcour and how the route rides.

Our calendar is currently two rides. An early season opener ‘OMLOOP’ in March and ‘RIBINOÙ’ in June. With a proposed third ride, ‘DARKLANDS’ that we are currently working on for high summer in July.

After that it’s about enjoying time in the saddle with your chums and meeting like minded fruitcakes. By far the majority of our riders are repeat offenders. We like to think that speaks for itself and a fabulous ‘Flanrouvian’ community has steadily grown since 2017.

We love the ‘classics’ so our one day rides are aimed to recreate a similar experience. Our name FlanRou is actually melded from our two favourite races of the pro calendar Spring classics.

omloop

Held in March, our ‘on road’ season opener, has a strong following from the regions ‘roadmen’ with a Flanders style of route.

Starting and finishing from a warm spacious hall, essential for early March weather, we have seen editions ridden in shorts and short sleeves. We have also had ‘The Beast from the East’ editions where we were sandwiched between snow showers and yet that is the most memorable edition for the arduous conditions. Limited places.

ribinoù

It's June and the grass is high. Ridden in 'sectors' like our own rough version of Paris-Roubaix. Lanes link together forgotten droves and byways to create a twist and turn of a ride!

Every year we start from the well known local meeting cafe 'Sweets' between Glastonbury and Wedmore, right in the heart of the Somerset levels. Recommend riding Gravel, CX or MTB bikes on this one. Always book early, limited places.

Darklands

TBC for high summer - something quite different, rather challenging and unique.

We can't reveal all the detail yet, this ride will ONLY be available to our regular experienced riders and the numbers will be very restricted.
