omloop

'road to the classics'

NEXT provisional date:
1st march 2026

We love the spring classics. Early season 'do or die' one dayers. That's what we aim for with our 'OMLOOP', a great parcour. As close to a 'Flanders' profile as we can, right here in the centre of Somerset.

We've had all the weathers over the years, sub zero 'Beast from the East' editions and mild 'ride in shorts' editions. But a large warm hall will greet you, acting as a great place to meet up with mates, share road stories and we might just have something to help warm you up when you finish too.

Most riders are returning year on year, which speaks for itself really. Very limited places, so book early, once we are full that is it.

Full 115k or shorter 87k route options - so what is the 'omloop' parcour?

Omloop is all ridden on tarmac in a 'Fondo' style. Similar to a Belgian classic, but right here on the Somerset Levels. With around only 575m of ascent on the full distance route.

NO TIMING CHIPS, it's not our thing. We don't want you 'racing for the deluded' on the open road. We want you to enjoy riding with your mates without any time pressures or comparisons.

as always, it's a secret route until a few days before...

'OMLOOP' route is generally based on previous routes which you all seem to love. For this years Omloop 2025 we have changed a fair portion to keep you on your toes and take you to areas you may not of ridden before!

Physical signage is put up on the course and GPS route files are emailed to entrants AFTER ONLINE ENTRY HAS CLOSED. So normally a few days BEFORE the ride. You'll also carry a brevet card with our assistance contacts that brevet card also has a basic regional route map should you go well off course.

This very early season opener is held at the start of the Spring 'cobbled classics' season. Routed on tarmac but on back lanes with similar parcours that you will see on E3 Harelbeke, Ghent-Wevelgem, Dwars Door Vlaanderen or Tour of Flanders. Perfect training if you're heading out to one of those Flandrian fondo rides or just looking for winter motivation to get your season off to a flying start... allow some extra chill time once you're back at the hall too for a little nourishment there is never a rush and it's a great annual gathering of local riders.

restricted low participate numbers keeps it nice and friendly.
