crew

Between the FlanRou crew we ride, we fix, we sell, we coach, we compete, we support... you get the picture.

We don't bugger about with tatty bling, digital certificates or cold falafels. Because we like to think our riders would rather have real food, proper nutrition, genuine on course support and dependable sorts working on the team. We like to think that our crew look after you like one of our own.

Johnny

Routemaster, commentator and grinning 'Lillian' pilot.

A lot of you know Johnny from within the bike trade, so if it's a Shimano part number you need, some adventure gear or a new pair of disco slippers then he is your go to geek. Agent for plenty of other great bike trade gear too.

coxy

Engine room. Keeping the circus rolling towards town.

You can blame him for waiting on web updates and those long promised galleries of photos. But he's handy with the planning, organisation, camera and digital artwork.

Somerset bike centre

Ian our tame spannermonkey, erotic dancer and an absolute diamond.

Ian has been in the bicycle trade for a long time running Somerset Bike Centre in Weston-super-Mare. You will be hard pushed to find a more trustworthy and knowledgable soul to work on your pride and joy. His workshops are based in Weston-super-Mare and Cheddar.

So if your bike needs a service - Ian is your trusted man - still looks like he should be on a list though.

Leon

Car parking, feed stops and lady magnet.

No doubt you have seen Leon waving you in, pointing to parking spots or out there on a feed stop. Been with us for almost every edition. Handy barman, cart builder and pasty smuggling mule.

kath

Spud tickler and pudding shepherdess.

If you have ridden OMLOOP then you know how good the hall smells on completing OMLOOP on a fresh early classic season March ride. Kath suffers through every event by being surrounded by the preparation boxes for weeks before. She insures your spuds will be crispy, oiled and salty when you arrive back in to the warm hall after OMLOOP!

Maggie

Head of Security.

Watch out for her, she'll clatter you with that big spoon if you step out of line. Maggie can be found putting the hours in behind the scenes, often checking everything is ship shape at the FlanRou storage facility and counting things over and over again.

Louis

Feed stations and support.

You have likely seen Louis setting up or dishing up the flapjack at the feed station. Or you've seen him riding amongst you on previous editions. Here he is having completed our 'Stadium CX' which we put on donkeys years ago in a local speedway arena and out on the dirt droves of 'FlanRou'.

Just like most of you dirty lot, he still has that race number up on his wall... and of course it still has the mud on it.

...there are more of the crew to come soon... you've not got away with it.
