'DIRT, GRIT & GRAVEL SECTORS'

9am sun 7th June 26

Sweets Tea Rooms, Blakeway, Nr. Wedmore, Somerset
BS28 4UE

Our 'Challenge' ride is always around 95k with a shorter option at approximately 70k. We have been riding this sort of rough nonsense for years, we're in our second decade of running RIBINOU. While it's referred to as 'Gravel'... we are rougher than the 'champagne gravel' you may see throwing up dust elsewhere.

why you should join us.

Think Paris-Roubaix, Flanders, Dirty Kanza (renamed as Unbound) and European endurance rides such as Gravel Bootleggers... this is your regional version. Where you can take part, without any timing chips or pressure from published results. No serious climbing, just the odd little local 'berg' right here down on the Somerset levels.

Dirt droves and gravel 'sectors' count down in a Paris-Roubaix style, stitched together by tarmac lanes. We spend a lot of time riding our parcour, for every effort you make off road, there is a recovery section following. It's about larks and laughs with our fellow riders, in places you might not know of or dare to venture into.

what bike should you ride?

A Cyclo Cross CX rig is nimble and fastest, but your Gravel bike is easily capable of this. Plenty choose to ride their XC or MTB soft tails. You will be fine riding on anything running at or above a 28mm tyre width.

FULL or short route options.

NO TIMING CHIPS, it's not our thing. We don't want you 'racing for the deluded' on the open road sections. Our short option encourages fresh riders who want to explore this sort of riding, while the more experienced rider will go out on the full route, either way enjoying great riding without the willy wagging of larger 'weekend warrior' events.

secret route - only revealed a few days before to entrants.

RIBINOÙ is loosely based on previous routes and sectors which you all seem to love. Just with the odd twist or tweak each year to keep you on your toes. Physical signage with our own branding is up on the course and GPS route files are also emailed to entrants AFTER ONLINE ENTRY HAS CLOSED. Normally a couple days BEFORE your ride.

GPS Route & Physical Signage.

Physical signage is put up on the course and GPS route files are emailed to entrants AFTER ONLINE ENTRY HAS CLOSED. Normally a couple of days BEFORE the ride. You'll also carry a brevet card with assistance contacts and a basic regional route map should you go well off course.

BREVET CARD.

You'll also be issued a BREVET CARD at sign on with a very basic area map as a back up. Be sure to get that stamped through the checkpoint and at the finish.

restricted low participate numbers, keeping it real nice and friendly too.
